1-5 July 2017 / Moscow International Symposium on Magnetism (MISM-2017)

M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia. Web

Deadline for registration April 1, 2017
Deadline for submission of abstracts April 1, 2017

Moscow International Symposium on Magnetism (MISM) is being held at Lomonosov Moscow State University every three years beginning from the year of 1999. The latest meeting MISM-2014 had gathered more than 700 scientists from 42 countries. From the first MISM-1999, the Symposium keeps the status of the largest international meeting on magnetism in Russia. The Organizing Committee focuses MISM-2017 on the most topical problems of modern magnetism. In addition to plenary talks of tutorial character and invited talks of leading scientists only top-level original contributions will be considered by the Program Committee. We also think that it is reasonable to limit the number of participants to 400-500 people to ensure high quality presentations.

Scientific program

The official language of MISM-2017 is English. It will be used for all printed material and presentations. No translation services will be provided. Saturday, July 1, is the arrival and registration day. The scientific program starts on Sunday, July 2, at 10:00. The program ends on Wednesday, July 5, at 15:00. The detailed program will be placed on the web pages of MISM in May 2017. A conference handbook containing the program and the abstracts of papers will be distributed to all participants at the conference desk. There are plenary lectures (45 min including discussion) starting at 9:00 every morning, followed by parallel sessions with invited talks (30 min including discussion), invited reports (15 min including discussion), oral reports (15 min including discussion) and round tables. All contributed papers will be presented as posters on display from 12:00 to 18:30, with a scheduled session at 17:00 - 18:30 with no parallel sessions of talks.

Registration

Participants are requested to make registration via web page https://mism.magn.ru/ before April 1, 2017.

Submission of abstracts

Each abstract must have at least one author who has registered to MISM and who will present the paper at the Symposium. It is preferred that there will be only one abstract per registered participant. Each abstract must be submitted via Internet web page https://mism.magn.ru/ before April 1, 2017. File format must be Microsoft Word. Each abstract is limited to one page in length. All material, including title, authors and affiliation, text, equations, figures, tables and references must be contained within a 16.5×21.5cm rectangular area. Center the title of the paper at the top of the page. It should be typed in capital bold letters. Below give the name(s) of the author(s), and on the next line the affiliation and address. Skip two lines and start the text. The text must be single-spaced. All letters should be no smaller than 12 point. The abstracts will be reviewed, and notification of acceptance/rejection will be emailed by May 15, 2017.

Proceedings

The MISM-2017 Organizing Committee has the preliminary agreement about publishing the Proceedings of MISM-2017 in Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials (invited and selected papers), and Solid State Phenomena.

Submission of manuscript

The maximum length of an invited paper is 6 pages. The maximum length of a contributed paper is 4 pages. A detailed version of instructions to authors will be published in the second announcement.

Conference Dinner and Cultural Program

We are pleased to welcome you to the Conference Dinner at Restaurant located on the University campus (price about 50 €), sightseeing tour around Moscow by bus, guide tour around Kremlin, theatres and museums. The special cultural program for accompanying persons will be organized. The detailed schedule will be placed on the web page in May 2017. Please, email to Conference Office what you would like to see in Moscow.

VISA

Participants requiring a visa for entry to Russia may get a tourist voucher from the hotel booking system.

Accommodation

Moscow is ranked as one of the most expensive cities in non-Euro zone for tourists when it comes to booking the hotel room and room service. The prices range between 70-200 € per night. We hope to find the accommodation for participants as cheap and convenient as possible. Please, make your reservation via hotel booking system on our web-site (will be available from February 1, 2017) or make hotel reservation via your travel agency.
